10:49 pm - Bye Bye LJ
I already had a Dreamwidth journal, so tonight I am doing a last LJ import and moving my show over there. Same user name, probably just about as much (little) posting.

Hey, I have a toddler and I was never a great poster to begin with.

07:05 pm - Recipes Posted
For those who might be interested over the last two days I have posted a couple of recipes over at Isllah's Recipes. First up was sour cream cookies followed by the Harvey Wallbanger pie that went over so well at my birthday party.

This endeth the pimping of a project I have been ignoring.

09:34 am - Car is better

Yeehaw! The car has magically fixed itself. The ABS light turned off on the way to work this morning. I called the shop and they said that the system probably just got confused with the fishtailing and lack of traction. Since it has reset itself, there is no need to take it to the shop.
This makes up for the fun Sean is having with the dryer repairman.

05:27 pm - My Birthday = Pie Party!!!
Yup, its that time of year again. Since my birthday is a Monday I am planning on celebrating a few days late. Just like last year, it's a pie party. Bring a pie, sweet or savory (or not). We will hang, chat, maybe watch a movie, play a game or something else amusing. If we decide there is not enough pie, then we will get pizza pie from Stellar.

The Details
What: Pie Party to celebrate Kyna's Birthday
Where:Kyna and Sean's House - message me if you need address and/or directions
When: Saturday February 5th, 5:30 PM until whenever
Who: You, and some tasty, tasty pie

Yes, I know this is short notice, life has been.... challenging recently. If you can't make it, I won't be mortally insulted.

To quote Sean: "Pie r good"

Hope to see there!

07:17 am - TiM
On Saturday over at Tor.com they blogged about this short a couple of days ago. I just got to watch it and it is so delightful that I thought I should share. Six minutes about a little boy who wants to be Tim Burton when he grows up made my morning much better.

07:05 pm - Cowboy Junkies in Covington/Kent
Hey smallbearcub (and anyone else who cares) tickets for the Cowboy Junkies show in Covington (actually Kent) on October 2nd are now available. Use the link here to buy tickets.

For those who might be interested, I am going with my mother. Tickets are $30 ($28 if you are over 55). I have seats D2 and D4, four rows back from the stage on the left side of the seating chart.

Don't know who the Cowboy Junkies are? Blasphemy! Listen and learn at their website. They are fabulous in person.

07:20 pm - Fish!!!
So, the company that we order our meat from, Thundering Hooves, has gotten their hands on some Bristol Bay Sockeye Salmon. They are offering it at $9.99/lb. The catch? It comes, frozen, in 17.6 lb box at a cost of $176

Now, this is a GREAT deal, but there is no way Sean and I can eat this on our own. Anyone want to split with us? We'll take care of ordering and pick up, you just help with the cost and the eating of all that tastiness.

From Thundering Hooves' Website
Bristol Bay Sockeye Salmon 17.6 lbs.
$176.00
Available for a limited time only! Sustainably-caught by family-owned, Seattle-based Snopac, this wild Alaskan Sockeye salmon from Bristol Bay can be simply grilled with salt and pepper or saved for a salmon chowder to warm you this winter. The salmon is priced to you at $9.99 per pound and arrives in an 8kg frozen box (17.6 lbs.) with approximately 10 fillets at 28 oz. each. If freezer space is tight for you, consider sharing this opportunity with friends and splitting the box.

Offering this wonderful salmon at a good sale price is part Thundering Hooves' new program to seek out other locally-based, environmentally-sustainable producers of quality food.

09:56 pm - New Post at Isllah's Recipes
I just posted the recipe for lime meltaways over at Isllah's Recipes. These are the cookies I served at July 4th and that I brought to tea last weekend at the Lovely's. Feel free to make some yourself and tell me how it goes. I think these would convert nicely to gluten-free, for any of you who want to give that a shot.
